This one-hour workout strengthens your entire body by challenging all of your major muscle groups with the best weight room exercises like squats, presses, lifts and curls. BODYSTEP™ This Les Mills program is the ultimate way to give your body a high-energy cardio blast that tones the hips and thighs by utilizing a height-adjustable step. With over 2,000 steps during each one-hour session, you’ll see results in record time. Boot Camp Our Boot Camp is designed for MAXIMUM calorie burn in the shortest amount of time. We want to get you fit, get you healthy, challenge your mind, challenge your body, and most importantly MAKE FITNESS FUN! Boot camp isn’t just for macho men, superwomen, etc., but for everyone! Boot camp is challenging, but it provides an amazing whole-body workout that builds strength and endurance. Think about it as a 60-minute one-stop-shop workout where time commitment is minimal in comparison to all the physical benefits that you will obtain. For those who’ve just started their journey to a healthier life, Les Mills™ Virtual is a great way to learn the basics and increase your confidence before you get into live classes. If you’re a more experienced member, you’ll enjoy being able to work out to the world’s best fitness programs, led by the world’s best instructors, at times that suit your schedule. CARDIO, DANCE & SPIN Cycle This 45-minute indoor cycling class uses different levels of resistance to take participants through a variety of terrains and intensities. Space is limited, so please arrive 10 minutes early for bike setup and remember to bring a water bottle and a towel. Zumba® This heart-racing, muscle-pumping, Latin-inspired class is a great time that gets great results, including high-calorie burn and an awesome core workout. Over your one-hour class, not only will you enjoy a great workout, but great music while learning cool dance moves. If you want to have fun and get fit, this is the class for you. Lunch Crunch is designed to take your lunch hour and turn it into something you’re proud of. This form of interval training is a cardiovascular exercise strategy alternating short periods of intense anaerobic exercise with less intense recovery periods. Packed into a 30-minute time frame, it is sure to work for you if you put in the work. All classes are multi-level. Since a limited number of mats are available for use, we recommend that you bring your own yoga mat to class. Pilates This mat class will challenge your “power house” (core) in standard Pilates format. Connect your breathing to your core; increase your strength, flexibility and range of motion. You are welcome to bring your own mat. Duration: 60 minutes CORE/ FLEXIBILITY PERSONAL TRAINING Personal Training If you are looking for a fitness plan that is made just for you which is based on your wants and needs then it is time to meet with a trainer. A personal trainer will review the results with you and help develop a personalized exercise plan to meet your goals. Testing includes a resting heart rate and blood pressure check, body fat composition, cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, abdominal strength and endurance, upper body strength and endurance, and an exercise routine. Equipment Orientation The Y offers a wide variety of fitness equipment in order to cater to your every exercise need. From cardiovascular to strength training, you will find what you need to live a healthy lifestyle. With such a wide range of equipment at your disposal, we offer this free orientation to help familiarize you with our entire fitness facility in order to make your workouts more efficient and effective. Come get fit with us and make friends. Duration: 60 minutes Fit For Life Sit ‘N’ Be Fit taken to the next level. Fit For Life will be a combination of exercises to improve endurance, strength, flexibility and balance. This class will incorporate standing to prepare you to be Fit For Life! Duration: 55 minutes Wellness Wednesday Wellness Wednesday is the time of the week to get some inspiration on how to live well. Wellness Wednesday will consist of two 30-minute sessions. The first 30-minutes, an expert will be discussing our weekly wellness topic geared towards maintaining a healthy mind and body. The next 30-minutes will consist of movement led by a fitness professional. Wellness Wednesday is available in-person at the YMCA of the Highland Lakes or via Zoom. This is a free event and everyone is welcome. Snacks and door prizes will be available to in-person participants. This program is a partnership with Ascension & the Y. Wellness Wednesday takes place on the 1st,3rd & 5th Wednesday of the month. Total Sculpt Weight training designed to change your body composition from fat to lean muscle. This 55-minute continuous weight training class focuses on muscle endurance, definition and range of motion. A total body workout that is good for the beginner and the experienced. Duration: 55 minutes Yoga This restorative class offers participants a chance to explore and refine the basic postures, breathing techniques and mind-body connections of Yoga. It is the perfect class for beginner to intermediate level students, physical therapy patients, and regular practitioners of Yoga. Yoga is designed to align the body and mind, using correct posture and controlled breathing to increase muscle tone and flexibility. You are welcome to bring your own mat. Duration: 60 minutes GW C0 4 Summer 2022 • Register today 6Birthday Parties Book your child’s next birthday party with the YMCA! We set up, clean up, and provide just about EVERYTHING! All you need to do is bring the cake and friends. We have different party options including: Nerf War, Dance, Canvas Painting, Gymnastics, Super Hero, and more! Call us to book a birthday party today. ChildWatch ChildWatch is offered as a free service for members with family or one-adult family memberships. ChildWatch is more than just a safe place to look after your children while at the Y. This program offers children and infants the chance to get the most out of their own visit to the Y through playing, learning and staying physically active. Age requirements, time limits and hours vary by branch. Free Family Fridays Ages 6wks-13yrs One Friday each month, from 4:30-8:30pm, parents, who are Y FAMILY MEMBERS ONLY, can drop off their children for a free evening of fun. Space is limited so sign up at the branch fast! Please note, parents must sign up in advance. Dates June 10, July 8, August 5 Extras Add $3.50 per child to enjoy pizza for dinner! Don’t forget to add an extra hour for only $5 to make it a long night out! Kid’s Night Out Ages 6wks-13yrs It’s 3-8pm on a Saturday, do you know where your kids are? Of course you do! They’re eating pizza, playing games and making friends at the Y during this monthly evening event. Children in attendance should wear comfortable clothing (including socks), and blankets, a pillow and/or pajamas are welcome. Bring a swim suit, towel, and a change of clothes for kids older than 4 years old. Parents must sign up in advance! Make it a long night out and add an additional hour for only $5 more! The Y now has you covered! We are offering afterschool care for BCISD! We will be providing a safe and exciting place for your child to spend their afternoon while on campus! Their time will consist of homework time, snack, STEM activities, fun games, enrichments, and more! Students will be able to stay on their campus (Shady Grove Elementary, RJ Richey or Bertram) as we have Y Afterschool counselors coming to them. Pricing: $160 per month with a one time $25 registration fee Financial assistance is available through the YMCA. Please give us a two week period to review your application. Call the branch today to find out how to apply! Y Afterschool will be a licensed program which means you could possibly qualify for CCS funding and it is tax deductible. Additional Care: Holiday breaks, teacher in-service, early release days are COVERED through Y Afterschool. Care will be held at the YMCA branch to give our kiddos a mini camp experience!
